Named in honor of his mother Wilhelmina Pittman, Attorney Sean Pittman founded the Wilhelmina Foundation to provide college textbooks to students throughout the State of Florida.

In 1990, Sean graduated from FSU having enjoyed many public triumphs, serving as FSU Student Body President, serving on the Florida Board of Regents, and Chairman of the Florida Student Association. However, few knew that privately Sean struggled to afford tuition, textbooks and life as a working student. During his undergraduate studies, Sean’s mother worked hard to support him and his siblings, but as a single mother, was often challenged with meeting many financial needs.

While Sean was able to work and get loans for tuition, he always fell short to afford books. Recognizing that students still face these financial difficulties, Sean founded the Wilhelmina Foundation to provide textbook scholarships to hundreds of students that find themselves in similar need. As a tribute to the hard work of Sean’s mother, the Wilhelmina Foundation will buy books for hundreds of students throughout the State of Florida.
